He aha te mea nui?

He aha te mea nui o te ao?

Maku e ki atu

He Tangata, He Tangata, He Tangata

What is the most important thing?

What is the most important thing in the world?

I would reply

It is people, It is people, It is people

Rotorua is often referred to as the epi-center of Maori culture and is steeped in history and legends. It is home to the Te Arawa people and has numerous testimony to their activities in the region. There are around 4 million people in New Zealand, with over 65,000 in Rotorua. Rotorua, with one third of its population Maori, is one of the strong centers of Maori culture in New Zealand. The local Te Arawa confederation of tribes has retained much of the traditions and crafts of their ancestors, who arrived in the district from Hawaiki about 800 years ago.

At Mana we place great emphasis on keeping the experience of our cultural services as realistic as possible.Utilising the natural resources of Rotorua integrated with the knowledge of our local guides provide our customers with a value added product.

On all guided tours customers gain an insight to the realm of the maori. Through narration of their myths and legends, historical facts, waiata (song). Through show and tell they learn about our culture, our traditions and spiritual connections. Through physical and interactive methods of learning are they able to experience first hand practices and traditions of a bygone era as they retrace the footsteps of a people in a time and in a place ..."Ko Te Rotoruanui-a-Kahumatamomoe",The Second and Great Lake of Kahumatamomoe)....Lake Rotorua
